Description
The village of Gsteig was first mentioned in an official record dating back to 1312 as a Chastalet (watch, defence or refuge tower). The 7 km hike takes us from Gsteig through Rohr to Dürri and on via Längmatte to the castle. Here we reach the highest point of the hike. The way back to Gsteig leads us through the Rotengraben and Innergsteig. Various information boards and a brochure available at the tourist office tell us interesting facts about the community of Gsteig-Feutersoey.
From Burg you can also descend into the valley via the spectacular Burg falls. The mountain trail is well signposted and maintained, but sometimes a little exposed. Good shoes are essential!
