Schaffhausen with its medieval old town is the starting point of this route. The absolute highlight of this stage is the Rhine Falls in Neuhausen am Rheinfall. At Europe's largest waterfall, huge masses of water cascade over the rocks across a width of 150 meters. The most impressive way to experience the full force of the spectacle is from the Rhine Falls basin.
