Description
The hike starts in Mellikon and first takes you up to the Belchen, one of the highest mountains in the region. From there, you have a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire surrounding area. The trail continues through picturesque forests and across green meadows to Wislikofen and the impressive monastery complex, which you can see from afar. Here you have the opportunity to take a break and marvel at the historic architecture.
The next section of the hike takes you to Kaiserstuhl, the historic town on the banks of the Rhine. Take a break here to explore the picturesque alleyways and half-timbered houses and stop for refreshments in a cosy café.
On the way back to Mellikon, the route runs along the Rhine, past idyllic landscapes and through small villages. You can enjoy the peace and beauty of nature and perhaps even discover some of the rare animal and plant species that are native to this region.
