Municipal road - Affoltern i.E

The name "Affoltern" first appears in 1146 and comes from the Old High German affoltera, apfolter. This means "apple tree" or "by the apple trees", which is why the municipal coat of arms features an apple tree with six red fruits. On this hike, you walk past magnificent, old high-stem trees and for a short distance along the signposted Way of St. James No. 4 of the national route.
