Sogn Carli - round trip from Ilanz

Immediately after the start of the tour in Ilanz - the first town on the Rhine - the steep and crisp ascent begins on the old Flonder road to Flond. From here, you continue on less steep forest roads to Surcuolm and finally up to the Rigi in Graubünden. After this feat of strength of almost 1000 meters in altitude, it is worth recharging your batteries on the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant and enjoying the unique view of the Rhine Gorge and the surrounding mountains. After a well-earned break, the first section is a flowing single trail to the Sogn Carli chapel, which gave this tour its name. Alternating between single trails and gravel roads, the descent now leads down to Morissen and on to Vella. To master the last two climbs via Cumbel to Sassolas, it's worth filling up your water bottles again in Vella at the village fountain or in the Volg store. Once in Sasolas, the final descent awaits you on beautiful single trails to Luven and on down to Ilanz, the start and finish of this scenic yet challenging tour.
