Description

Welcome to the Survitg hiking trail. You start the hike at the chapel of Sankt Jakob/S. Giacun. The trail continues from Artugl in the direction of Sur Acla. From this point, you are at the entrance to Val Frisal. The mountain landscape with the rushing white water of the Flem is unique. Southwards, the view falls on the village of Brigels. From Alp da Stiarls, Val Frisal shows its true face: steep slopes and overhanging rock faces, diverse fauna and flora, the Flem stream with its crystal-clear water, the fine mountain air, which can also turn into a storm. The Kistenstöckli (2745 m above sea level) is the apex between Graubünden and Glarus. In Muladiras, the three alpine pastures Quader, Alp Nova and Rubi border each other. Cattle graze here in summer. The sheep first graze around the village, then up to Plaun Frisal. Just a few years ago, the Geisshirt drove his herd from the village to the Frisal plain and back every day.

The trail markings in the description of this tour are based on the 1:25000 hiking map for Brigels, Waltensburg, Andiast. The hiking map is available from the Brigels information office, the Volg Andiast and Waltensburg shops and the Hotel Postigliun in Andiast.
