Description

The start is in Riffenmatt. After a first ascent, the route leads past the old moor baths. In the Tröligraben, the Schwarzwasser is crossed. A descent leads down to Eywald, which is also an alternative entry point to the circular tour. First on an asphalt alpine path, later from Schleifgraben on natural paths, the tour now leads steadily uphill to 1540 metres above sea level.

A wooden path leads over to the Selital area. After an easy start, the route continues uphill to the Horbüelpass. The subsequent varied and demanding section over forest paths and alpine meadows truly deserves the designation "King's Route". At Hällstett, the view opens up over the entire Mittelland to the Jura. Those who do not have the courage to complete the now following descent via the old mule track can also walk. This is followed by a very long and spectacular descent over stony alpine and forest paths before a final asphalt section leads back to Riffenmatt.
