Description
The route is signposted from the bus stop "Muotathal Post". Levels alternate with gentle climbs. On the way there are small wooden houses where the farmers used to live and which today serve as warehouses. After a few metres you reach the first vantage point, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the village of Muotathal. Over a small ravine, the Bürgeli stream and through the forest you reach the second lookout point and thus also the highest point of the tour: from Bürgeli you can see the Ried, the Rothenflue and the Mythen. About halfway up the gentle descent, a short detour to the Lourdes grotto, built in 1919 in the ruins of a former landslide, is worthwhile. In a rock niche stands a statue of the Virgin Mary, and in the pond at her feet the water splashes in a monotonous, almost meditative rhythm. The return to the village is easy, over the valley floor, meadows and courtyards.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator
