Monte di Comino Rundwanderung

The cable car station that takes you to Comino (1200 m.a.s.l.) is in Verdasio in the Centovalli. The modern cable car takes you comfortably from Verdasio up to Monte di Comino. Here you can already enjoy a magnificent mountain panorama.

From the top station, turn left towards the Grotto Alla Capanna. The large sun terrace with views of the wild and romantic Centovalli invites you to stop for a break. The trail continues towards the little church of Madonna della Segna, which is located at 1176m. From there, turning slightly right, you reach the nearby peat bog of Pian della Segna with its typical water plants. A place that is certainly worth a short detour.

Back to the little church, continue on the right through dense beech woods towards Dröi . The small hamlet with its scattered houses is picturesquely situated on a sunny slope, with a fantastic view of Lake Maggiore and the Centovalli. The way back is partly over rock steps carved into the granite, partly over extensive pastures and meadows, past numerous lovingly restored rustici.
