Description
The Bucheggberg region is synonymous with idyllic villages, wooded hills and colourful fields. A trail that is hard to beat when it comes to unspoilt nature, the Buechibärg circuit starts flat along the Aare river before a first ascent towards Lüterkofen. Gentle sloping hills and beautiful valleys, up and down: the view of the Jura Mountains and the Swiss Plateau is simply magnificent, particularly between Hessigkofen and Tscheppach.
Up and down again: Via Biezwil and Lüterswil you reach Balm near Messen in the Limpach valley. The steep ascent to Aetigkofen begins in Brittern. Between Hessigkofen and Tscheppach, the view of the Jura and the Mittelland is magnificent. A final detour leads through the hidden Müli Valley past Buchegg Castle to Küttigkofen. Via Lohn, Biberist and Zuchwil, it's mostly back to the starting point on secondary roads.
If you would like to come hiking in the region: the Bucheggberg forest hike is highly recommended.
