Description

The ascent of Piz Trovat II is a via ferrata for experts, located in very (K5)to extremely (K6) difficultterrain and therefore requiring strong upper arms, nerves of steel and excellent fitness. This route branches off after the relatively easy Cambrena strip. After that the route gets steadily more demanding. The first highlightis the 35 m long zipwire. Then a long traverse offers stunning panoramic views ofthe Bernina mountain range. Finally, atthe key section, some long overhangs (up to 30 m long!) on the Biceps Wall require real mountaineering skills and experience.

THE APPROACH: The Diavolezza cable car takes you up to 2978 m. From the top station, a little path takes you in about 20 minutes down to the start at the foot of the Piz Trovat face.

THE DESCENT: You descend via the north-east ridge, across rough terrain and scree. There are some very steep sections, so you need to be sure-footed. Follow the signs for the Berghaus Diavolezza to arrive at its inviting sunshine terrace.
