Description

The emergence of the textile industry was made possible by the Aabach. While in the early days these were still manufactories, over time mechanized spinning mills and weaving mills developed. But not only the textile industry found suitable conditions for production in the region. A whole number of other industrial companies such as the canning factory in Seon, the oxygen plant in Lenzburg, the pasta factory Tommasini, the jam manufacturer Hero, the Wisa-Gloria works, the Swiss linen industry in Niederlenz, or the insulated copper wire factories in Wildegg all used the hydropower of the Aabach. Embark on a journey into the past. The Association for Industrial Culture on the Aabach has signposted an exciting educational trail of nearly 12 km. The panels are located at the original sites of the companies and provide information about their history, industry sector and development. The educational trail begins at Hallwyl Castle and ends in Wildegg. If you plan a break in one of the restaurants in Lenzburg and visit some sights, you can cover one stage of the entire route in one day. You can also add the second stage immediately.
