Description

The walk begins on the Oberalp pass at 2,033 metres.  First there is a climb up to Fellilücke with a view across the Fellital valley, now lying behind the walker, and a further one of the Oberalp pass.  Then comes a gentle descent towards the Lutersee lake down a rough path.  A swim in the mountain lake is recommended on hot summer days, but only for tough hikers.

The high alpine pathway with a great view over the Urseren valley now runs almost level to Stöckli.  Four huge windmills, which produce 4.5 million Kwh of ecological power yearly, now come into sight.  Around 1,200 medium-sized households are served by the wind power.  As most of the electricity – about 70% - is produced during the winter months the wind farm makes an ideal alternative to hydro-electric power, which is mainly used in summer.

If your legs are still up to it on the way to Nätschen there is a short but beautiful detour through the flowering meadows on the top part of the Chilchenberg path. Otherwise the descent to Nätschen station takes the forest road or a path through the forest at Chilchenberg directly down to Andermatt.
