Habsburg Trail 3rd stage: Brugg - Baden

From Brugg, the trail leads along the Aare, over to the Reuss and across the bridge to Turgi at its impressive confluence. The challenging ascent through the cool forest up to the Gebenstorfer Horn is richly rewarded: Switzerland's impressive moated castle stretches out on the north side. The Aare, Reuss and Limmat rivers unite in the middle of a single large floodplain. A relaxing path leads to Baldegg. The water tower offers a magnificent panoramic view over the Mittelland as far as the Säntis. An easy forest path leads to the historic Stein ruins, where a Habsburg family celebration is said to have had fatal consequences in 1308. The old town of Baden is one of the most beautiful towns in Switzerland and invites you to take a stroll.
