LAND OF WARRIORS, PIGS AND FLAT MOORLAND

Out and about in the border area of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and St. Gallen between winter and spring. The hike leads from Speicher via Speicherschwendi to Wenigerweiher, very close to the historic scene of the Battle of Vögelinsegg. Today, the area is a protected nature reserve. Wenigerweiher lake is a popular hiking destination among city dwellers, but also appeals to families thanks to the interesting information boards about the natural sites.
