Description

Already from the Gotschna mountain station, the impressive Grüenhorn cannot be missed. One side is green and covered with vegetation, the other is rough rock. First, you walk briefly on a wide forest road before turning right onto a narrow hiking trail towards the Grüenhorn. For the ascent to the Grüenhorn, you should be sure-footed and wear good footwear. The approximately 200 meters of elevation gain to the Grüenhorn are challenging and you pass several switchbacks up to the summit. For this, you will be rewarded during the ascent with a breathtaking view of Wolfgangpass, Lake Davos, and the Prättigau. From the Grüenhorn, you continue hiking towards Gmeinboden. There are repeatedly exposed sections where the trail becomes very narrow, but this is not a problem for sure-footed hikers. In some places, steel cables are installed, providing additional security. Afterwards, there is a short ascent to the Parsennfurgga. From the Parsennfurgga, the descent towards the Parsennhütte follows, which is not demanding. At the Parsennhütte, the trail turns back into a forest road, which leads back to the Gotschnabahn mountain station. Now you have earned a break at the Gotschnagrat restaurant!
