Description

From the restaurant Hochwang you follow the road southwards. Above the street there are a number of small huts. Directly above the street and the grid you will find a biotope in which the mountain-salamander feels at home. After about 300 metres you take the lower road. Near the old sawmill there is another biotope (salamanders, frogs, toads, dragonflies), shortly after that there is a small pond (spawn of frogs and toads). Ronatobelbridge: downwards you have a sight into the bizarre and washed-out rocks of the Ronatobel and upwards the view of the huge earth-pyramid. To see the pyramid you either take the small path on your right down to 'Quaggishütte' or else you climb a few steps up the slope. To get back it is best to take the same route.
