Fornohütte - Monte Rosso via SW-Flank

Once prepared for the ascent, follow the eastern lateral moraine of the glacier southwards until you can turn towards Cima di Val Bona. At an altitude of about 2700m, the next change of direction is on the schedule: now head northeast across the beautiful Monte Rosso southwest flank. Thanks to its sun-favored orientation, you will often find slushy snow here. Finally, you reach the summit with or without skis via the uppermost southwest ridge or the western slope.
