First - Bachalpsee - Hagelsee - Wart - Grosse Scheidegg No. 5

The 6-seater gondola cableway takes you to the First in the middle of a walker's paradise. From here the path ascends and descends gently up to the Bachsee. Grazing cow and the refelctions in the lakes of the snow-capped giants of the Bernese Alps dominate the landscape. Leaving the lake past the refuge hut in a northerly direction you climb up towards the ridge. Soon you reach the path to Axalp, cross the ridge and turn off towards the east to Hiendertellti. Shortly afterwards you pass the Hagelsee, which remains still partly covered in snow well into the late summer. Following along the Hiendertelli with the Häxensee you reach the Wart with the Blau Gletscherli. You descend via the Blau Gletscherli to Wischbäch; Oberläger back to the ridge and, following this, back to the Grosse Scheidegg. From here a bus runs back to the village to Grindelwald.
