First - Bachalpsee - Faulhorn - Bussalp No. 2

This hike offers magnificent views of the Schreckhorn Group and the catchment area of the two Grindelwald glaciers, a deep blue mountain lake reflecting the majestic peaks of the Oberland four-thousand-metre peaks and a hospitable mountain hotel from which you can experience magnificent sunrises and sunsets.

From First, a well-maintained path leads in gentle ups and downs to the shore of the Bachalpsee. Behind the lake, the mule track of national importance leads up towards Burgihütte. Passing two mountain huts you reach the Gassenboden. The old Faulhorn mountain hotel is only a few hairpin bends further up. Back via Gassenboden you descend quite steeply through the wide alpine hollow of Bussalp and via Oberläger reach the terminus of the Bussalp post bus course, from where the Grindelwald bus takes you comfortably to the village.
