Culinary hike in the Rhine Valley between Au and Marbach

The culinary hike takes you from Au to Rebstein-Marbach. Great views and three culinary highlights await you in first-class excursion restaurants. After the first stage, along meadows and slightly uphill on the Rheintaler Höhenweg trail between vineyards, you will be spoilt for choice with a starter at Restaurant Maienhalde. The route continues through the village of Berneck via Heerbrugg to Widnau. Part of the route follows the road, but it is flat and you get to see the Rhine Valley on foot. The main course is served in the restaurant of the Businesshotel Forum Widnau (in the leafy inner courtyard). After this stop, the route follows the inland canal before climbing up to Rebstein for a well-earned dessert at the Schloss Weinstein restaurant overlooking the Rhine Valley. The walk ends at Rebstein-Marbach railway station.
