Description
From Wila the path takes you over the Töss to Tablat. In summer, the vivarium with its native amphibians and reptiles invites you to visit the beautiful natural garden. Continuing along the Töss, then through the forest, you hike up to the Hochlandenberg. In the 14th century, a stately castle stood here. Not much remains today, as most of the stones were used for the construction of the Turbenthal cotton spinning mill. A worthwhile detour leads you from the ruins in about ten minutes to the Manzenhueb experience farm. In the garden arbor, the Ott family spoils its guests with homemade products and farm-raised meat.
Back at Vorder Eich, you descend again to the Töss and reach Saland. Delicacies can be found at natürli zürioberland ag. Where high-tech meets craftsmanship, the finest regional milk and cheese specialties are produced. Visitors are invited to sample the extensive range or even try cheese making themselves. Those who have had enough hiking then take the train from Saland station. The rest of us follow the Töss downstream and are back in Wila in just under fifty minutes.
