Description

This hike leads leisurely downhill from Arosa via Litzirüti through the forest to Langwies. A view of the legendary Langwies viaduct is a must on the way.

The tour starts at Arosa railway station and first takes you along a tarmac road to Untersee. The Schanfigg village trail starts there and winds its way through the forest, along the Plessur river and the Rhaetian Railway line to Litzirüti. Can you catch a glimpse of the red Rhaetian Railway train along the way? The trail continues through Schanfigg to Litzirüti railway station and then down to Plessur. Follow the signposts via Sonnenrüti to Langwies. The long meadow on which the church was built gave the village its name - locals still say today that they live on the "leng Wies". The village of 300 inhabitants is the ideal place for cultural activities. In addition to the church, the world-famous Langwies Viaduct, the Kulturhuus Schanfigg and the village shop with local specialities are well worth a visit.
