Bort - Oberer Gletscher No. 16

The route starts at Bort. Bort is easily reachable with the First cable car from Grindelwald or by foot via Oberhus (about 1 hour). Follow the Alpstrasse to Wittegg. There you cross the mountaincart track and continue on the hiking trail towards Schäftigenmoos. With a bit of luck you can watch the chamois grazing or you can purchase a piece of alp cheese here. The hiking trail apparently continues towards Wandela and through the forest to Unteren Lauchbühl. If your legs are burning here you can take the post bus back down to the valley. If you still have enough energy left, take the hiking trail further down towards the Wetterhorn Restaurant. At the Restaurant Wetterhorn the local bus will take you back to the village or you can walk the last 3 kilometres.
