Appenzell Trail Section 2: Appenzell - Urnäsch

Following old pilgrimage routes, the route crosses Appenzellerland from east to west with changing views. Quiet chapels, large and small river courses, near-natural Alps, typical farmhouses and hospitable inns can be discovered.

The main street in Appenzell, the old imperial road to Gontenbad, the barefoot path on Moosboden to Jakobsbad and the contemplation path running through alpine meadows and forests offer a variety of hiking experiences. In the Appenzell Museum of Customs in Urnäsch you can discover and experience the customs and traditions of the Appenzell region.
