Description
The hiking experience starts with a beautiful section along the lake promenade. After the station, the trail continues inland with a slight incline. Past Wiggen Castle and Wartensee Castle with its large garden and terrace. After about one and a half hours you arrive in Wiehnacht-Tobel at 615 metres above sea level. Along the railway track, the route soon crosses the Mattenbach stream. Then comes Heiden. The village lies on a sunny terrace high above Lake Constance. It is also known as the Biedermeier village because of its classicist centre. Continuing uphill across pastures and through short forest sections, you reach Kaienspitz. The view of the Alpstein and the Säntis is fantastic. A little later you arrive in the next village, Rehetobel. Here follows the steep descent into Chastenloch. This is where the three municipalities of Trogen, Speicher and Rehetobel meet. A restaurant invites you to take refreshments so that you can then master the last steep ascent to Trogen.
