Description
The Rhaetian Railway train first winds its way up through spiral tunnels and over viaducts. The ride is comfortable yet breathtaking – not least because of the legendary route, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008. From the train, you can see the sledders already heading downhill.
From 1800 meters above sea level in Preda, it goes down 400 vertical meters to Bergün – a sledding experience that will be remembered. The route leads windingly with great views of the Maiensässdörfli Naz and the surrounding mountain scenery under the viaducts and winds its way through the winter landscape towards Bergün, where the route gradually flattens out. Since sledding takes place on the closed mountain pass road, the track has an even gradient. Thus, the longest illuminated sledding run in Europe is also suitable for families with children, although caution is advised in the curves.
