Two fat friends on thin ice
Urs Schwegler and Cajus Schuppli are on fire for their ice hockey teams
The ice hockey fans of HC Ambrì-Piotta (HCAP) and HC Davos (HCD) are passionate supporters who are passionate about their teams. Their support is not only an expression of their loyalty to the team, but also a tribute to the sport itself. The atmosphere in the stadiums of Davos and Ambrì is often magical. For example, when the Ambrì-Piotta fans sing their club anthem La Montanara. In such magic moments, you can really feel that ice hockey is a community, a commitment to a club and a region. But pain and disappointment are also shared in the fan curves. In this context, the loyalty of the Biancoblu, the fans of HCAP, whose history is also characterized by hardship and underdog romance, is legendary. The HCAP has never won the Swiss championship. The HCD is the complete opposite. It combines its hundred-year history with success like almost no other club: the HCD is the record champion of the Swiss ice hockey championship with 31 titles.
Despite these differences, the HCD and HCAP have been kindred spirits for ages. The two clubs are united by their origins and their opponents: the mountain clubs that fight for points and honor against the rich teams from the big cities in the lowlands. And both clubs celebrate a fan culture that radiates far beyond the region and inspires fans throughout Switzerland. For example, Urs Schwegler from Zurich, who travels to the Gottardo Arena for home games as often as possible. Or Cajus Schuppli from the city of St. Gallen. The father who has already passed on the HCD gene to his sons. Although the two wear different club colors in their hearts, the ice hockey fans share a deep friendship - just like the two highest-altitude ice hockey clubs in Davos and Ambrì.
