Hazel forest
Fire pit in the Haselwald forest on the Miesegg in Benken SG. This is a wonderful place to play. A shelter protects you in wet weather. The fireplace is 5 kilometers from the Kaltbrunner Riet observation tower. Attractive nearby: the Kaltbrunn-Benken forest nature trail.
Directions: take the Voralpen-Express or the S4 to Uznach, bus to Benken
Lucerne at the Zimmeregg forest swimming pool
This fireplace in Littau on the edge of the forest, near the Zimmeregg forest swimming pool, is pleasantly cool in summer. There is a large meadow around the fire pit. The firewood has to be collected. There is a table for up to 20 people on site.
Directions: by Voralpen-Express to Lucerne, by bus to Littau swimming pool, 8 minutes on foot
Brunnadern-Neckertal Pärkli fireplace
Idyllically situated on the shallow riverbed of the Necker, generously laid out fireplace. A wide and flat gravel path leads from Brunnadern along the Necker to the meadow and the fire pit. You can also bathe here or simply enjoy the fantastic view of the Säntis. Firewood is available.
Directions: take the S4 to Brunnadern-Neckertal, 7 minutes on foot.
Sargans - Rheinau
A total of four fire pits in the beautiful, shady floodplain forest. Although the fire pits are located on the Rhine, there is no bathing opportunity. Instead, you can refresh yourself at a drinking fountain. You must bring your own firewood. The fireplaces can be reached on foot or by bike directly from the Rhine dam. Rheinau is therefore also a great stage stop on a longer Rhine dam cycle tour.
Getting there: take the S4 to Sargans, 40 minutes on foot via Seefeldweg.
Quarten SG – Eigis
This fireplace is located on a biotope elevated above Lake Walen and offers a beautiful view. An ideal stop on a cycling, climbing or hiking tour in the Flumserberg region. Firewood available. From Murg railroad station, walk along Lake Walen until a footpath leads up to the fireplace after approx. 15 minutes.
Directions: take the S4 to Murg, 30 minutes on foot.
Pfäffikon SZ - Weid playground
At the edge of the green Weid playground there are two large barbecue stoves and plenty of seating. In addition to the play equipment, the small pond or an exploratory tour in the woods by the Stadelbach stream are also attractive. WC and firewood available.
How to get there: take the Voralpen-Express to Pfäffikon SZ, 13 minutes on foot; or take the bus to Zeughaus, 3 minutes on foot.
