Stäubenkapelle

The Stäubenkapelle is framed by an impressive backdrop: beneath it, a cliff edge; around it, tall pines.

A pine bearing the image of the Mother of God once stood here. The stick of pine bearing the image of the Mother of God is preserved at the same spot in the form of an altar. The faithful built the chapel around the dying pine in order to gain protection against the Wilerplanggen avalanche.

Adventure circuit: the approximately one-hour circuit leads to the chapel and a picnic area is an inviting place to stop along the way.
