Spazi d'art Matias Spescha
Description
“Basically, the highest level of art would be reached if my work remained where I was when I left.” (Matias Spescha, 2006)
Matias Spescha's great wish, expressed two years before his death, came true in full: after the realization of his heartfelt project, the monumental open-air sculpture OGNA, opened posthumously in 2013 near the banks of the Rhine in Trun, exactly 10 years later the complete works in the form of his artistic estate have now also found a home in the artist's homeland. A spacious, light-flooded exhibition hall was set up in the former cloth factory for this purpose.
To mark the 100th anniversary of Matias Spescha's birth (1925-2008), Trun Cultura is organizing three major exhibitions in honour of the internationally renowned artist. Over the course of 2025, Gaspare O. Melcher, Corsin Fontana and Not Vital will each present their own encounter with the multifaceted work of Matias Spescha.
In their exhibitions, the artists present current works that they bring together with selected works by Matias Spescha, from paintings and sculptures to drawings and prints.
The exhibitions March 15 to May 25, 2025: Gaspare O. Melcher / Matias Spescha June 14 to August 24, 2025: Corsin Fontana / Matias Spescha September 6 to November 16, 2025: Not Vital / Matias Spescha
