Böbikon ruins
Description
It was founded in the late 11th century and consisted largely of wooden buildings. However, it already had a curtain wall and a manor house made of stone. In the second half of the 12th century, the castle was extended in stone. It was given a new curtain wall, a tower and a stone manor house, and later a wooden outbuilding was added. The castle was abandoned in the first half of the 13th century. The castle was excavated and conserved in 1949/51 and underwent a re-examination in 1986.
The castle is located on the western edge of the village of Böbikon. Shortly before entering the village, the castle is located on the left below the road.
