Voice from the region:
“The hike to the Pfaffenkreuz starts at the valley station of the Sahli-Glattalp cable car. Past the Märenbrunnen fountain, a spring of water that gushes out of the middle of the rock face, the route continues to the Glattalp plateau. Temperatures of minus 52.5 degrees Celsius have already been measured there. Past the chapel and the SAC hut, the trail leads directly to the “Paff” viewpoint. From there you can enjoy the view of the Charentalp and the surrounding mountain peaks. Strengthened by the rest at the summit and the fresh mountain air, you head back down to Glattalp. From there you can descend on foot or comfortably take the train. But if you still haven't had enough of this impressive mountain world, you should definitely make a detour to Glattalpsee. The Glattalp is a special place, wild, rustic and beautiful!” - Daniel Schelbert
