Parish church of St. Martin Zell
Description
In 1606, the old church was demolished due to its poor condition. After 17 weeks of construction, it was replaced with a new building and consecrated by Abbot Ulrich Amstein. 200 years later, the church was demolished and rebuilt again under the pastor Johann Thürig Keller and the architect Josef Putschert.
During the second rebuilding, the church tower was left as it was; the steeple of the present church dates back to 1606. The present church was consecrated in 1803 and equipped with an old organ from the parish of Sursee in 1805. This was followed by a conversion in 1900 and a total renovation over two years from 1966.
