Feldis Reformed Church

Description

The church is first mentioned in a document from around 1400 and was under the patronage of Hippolytus. It is possible that the Rhaeto-Romanic village name Veulden goes back etymologically to the name of this saint. The Reformation was adopted relatively late in 1583.

The nave, which is unplastered on the outside, has a hipped roof. A single-storey belfry is built into the church tower. Inside, the centrepiece is a polygonal pulpit without a sounding board decorated with wood carvings, a baptismal and communion table standing symmetrically in the centre of the choir, which is raised by two steps, and a three-prospect organ on the end wall of the choir.

The Evangelical Reformed Church of the Grisons runs Feldis/Veulden as a place of worship for the parish of Ausserdomleschg.

Opening Hours

The church is open during the day and freely accessible.
