Landshut Castle
Description
"A pretty aristocratic gem" - this is what Landshut Castle was called in the 15th century. Pretty is probably more of an understatement. A walk through the picturesque Landshut Castle Park is an experience at any time of year. While exploring the park, visitors come across 200-year-old plane trees, a large oak tree and Nordmann fir trees. A bridge over the round pond leads directly into the atmospheric castle courtyard and thus into the castle museum and the unique Swiss Museum of Game and Hunting.
The castle museum is located in the former living quarters and presents magnificent panelling, wooden masterpieces and lively paintings. The Wildlife and Hunting Museum focuses on the wildlife of Switzerland. A collection of historical hunting weapons can also be marvelled at here.
The café in the castle courtyard provides refreshments. The premises can be hired for private functions.
