Kloster Disentis

The Disentis monastery has a rich cultural heritage. The Baroque construction demonstrates the great confidence of the post-reformation period and is a striking feature of the landscape. The monastic building complex was later extended to include a school building. The history of Disentis is very well documented. The town has a comprehensive Romansh library and the well-structured monastery museum provides a valuable insight into the cultural and natural history of the region.
