Deer rutting excursion | UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch

Description

The bellowing sound made by stags in the rutting season is something not to be missed. The rut occurs in the autumn, when the days get shorter. Observe the red deer with the experts, find out about the animals and round off the evening with a drink on the alp.

  • Requirements: easy round walk suitable for families with children from 12 years of age

  • Meeting point: 5.30 pm Alp Schneeberg, Schneeberg 2, Sörenberg

  • Duration: approx. 3 hours, including approx. 1 hour walking time. End of excursion (Alp Schneeberg, Sörenberg) approx. 8.30 pm

  • Equipment: sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain protection, binoculars if available, food and a hot drink (optional), torch/headlamp (optional)
